Health care access & convenience
Kaiser Permanente brings health care services close to where you live and work. Our medical facilities provide a broad range of outpatient care, including women’s health, adult medicine, optometry, radiology, pharmacy, laboratory services, and a health education center that is open to all.
One-stop access at most facilities
At most of our facilities, you can access primary care, labs, X-ray, and pharmacy in just one stop, allowing you to get the care you need without losing valuable time. Evening and weekend services are available at most locations and our lab and pharmacy are open on the weekends for easier access.
Phone & video appointments
We also offer phone and video appointments that allow you to talk with a doctor without even leaving your home.
Advanced, secure health records
With the touch of a button, your doctor can bring up your medical history with one of the most advanced and secure electronic health record systems in health care. If you and your primary care doctor want the advice of a specialist, your doctor can connect with a specialist by phone often while you’re still in the office, or schedule an appointment for you to see a specialist, possibly that day.
Taking an active role: My Health Manager
At Kaiser Permanente, we know that better engagement means better health. With My Health Manager, our online personal health record, members can take an active role in their health when and where it’s convenient. Millions of our members are registered to use this powerful service at no additional cost to them. Some of the most popular tools allow members to:
- Email their doctor’s office for quick answers to routine questions
- Refill prescriptions and have most of them mailed to their homes
- Review most lab test results as soon as they’re available, often within 24 hours
- Make routine, non-urgent appointments in internal medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, and optometry
- Act for a family member, including children under 12 and adult relatives
And our physicians are using a sophisticated electronic medical record system to access a patient’s up-to-date lab results, x-ray images, prescription refills, hospital visit information, and other health records, even from remote sites. The system enhances our patients’ experience and helps our doctors make the best care decisions.
